Brushes for My Devastating Divas!
Being a member of a Black Greek Organization has many perks! One of them is being able to connect with other members across the world through your sacred organization. As a makeup artist and member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., I have been afforded the opportunity to connect with tons of sorors. And, during our 54th National Convention, I got a chance to meet Soror Catherine Johnson, owner and founder of the Legacy Dream Luxury Company. Extremely gracious, Catherine greeted each customer with patience, because there were SO of us trying to secure purchases of lippies, glam cases and brushes!
As many of you know, I’ve spent the last few months moving into our new home. So, I FINALLY got a chance to try out my 6pc brush set from Catherine and let me say, they did not disappoint! Before using any brushes, I always cleanse them by washing them with baby shampoo and a little lavender essential oil. Once they dried, I packed them for my trip to Chicago. I use this cosmetics bag on EVERY trip…toiletries, makeup, trinkets, WHATEVER! I LOVE IT! But back to the brushes! They wash and dry really well. But the real test is always application and how well they react to and with product. The concealer brush helped me precisely place my concealer under my eye, without blending into my under-eye shadow and liner, and on my forehead before setting it. While the eyeshadow brush is listed for blending, I used it for my crease shadow and I barely had to place it on the eyeshadow palette! It transferred the color directly to my eye and there was minimal fall out (which is always a win in my book)! For the majority of the looks I do on myself, Becca’s Chocolate Geode is always used. Again, it is heavily pigmented and you don’t need much. And, Legacy’s highlighter brush captured just enough to have my cheeks on and poppin! Needless to say, I’m in love with these brushes and they’re in my personal makeup kit, lol. They’re so soft and did not shed in the midst of washing.
